This Just In: Block Shop Creosote Collection

Our friends at Block Shop have a new collection of scarves out this week, and as with their previous scarf lines, we love the versatility these pieces bring to the table.

The scarves in the Creosote collection are block printed with natural dyes- a cornerstone of Block Shop’s process. The long scarves make beautiful wall hangings, while the square options are perfect for framing.

Of course, you can wear them too! The silk-cotton blend Block Shop uses in their scarves is super soft to the touch, and lightweight enough to use as a head-wrap, even on warm days. We love the naturally vibrant colors and bold patterns- perfect for layering with other patterns (which you know is how we’d rock these), or adding just a pop of color to a neutral outfit.

Whether you display them on your walls, or on your body, you can also feel good about supporting Block Shop. With their design HQ in California, and a cooperative of printers headed up by a 5th generation master block printer in Bagru, Rajasthan, Block Shop is focused on both marrying the traditional Indian hand block printing process with their modern California aesthetic; and to investing in the future of Indian block printing and the talented people who do the printing. They invest 5% of their profit every year to community programs and to date they’ve provided 250 primary care check-ups, 68 pairs of glasses, 8 cataract surgeries, and 18 UV/RO water filters. Stylish and socially minded- always a win in our book!
