The weather will be a little hit-or-miss this weekend, but the bike-fun schedule is looking packed. You really need to check out the full schedule for yourself, but let’s review a few highlights.

Drinking before prom

This isn’t officially a single ride but if you can start your weekend by 4 p.m. Friday this looks like a pretty great lineup: a lemonade stand tour followed by a BYOC champagne ride followed by Portland’s annual dress-to-impress bike party.

Three lanes good, four lanes bad

The fact is that four-lane roads are almost always pointlessly dangerous. Adding a center turn lane cuts both congestion and the chance of collisions compared to two lanes in each direction. At 5 p.m. BikeLoudPDX gives you a chance to get political with the No More 4-Lane Roads ride.

Into the woods with Bark

Get a dose of nature from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. It’s a “40 mile, easy pace, round-trip ride to the Jonsrud View Point in Sandy.”

Kidical Mass kicks off

The local ride club for families starts its summer season at noon Saturday with a ride to an ice cream shop.

Viking revival

Whether or not you get your pointy hat on (safety first!) this is a bring=your-own grillables trip “to the ends of the earth (West Hills)” to watch a heckling-encouraged 1928 movie about medieval Scandinavians. Starts 6 p.m. Saturday.

Black liberation

“Black folx! Let’s get together, take up space and celebrate black power & black solidarity by riding around Portland (mostly NoPo)!” Learn about local black businesses, history and friendship. Intended for folks who are themselves black or accompanying a friend/family member who is. 11 a.m. Sunday.

Historic local public art

Civic education group Know Your City leads a tour exploring Depression-era public art in Portland, as funded by our grandparents and great-grandparents. (Disclosure: There’s also going to be a companion ride about modern murals on July 2, and I’m leading it! You should come to that too.) 2-4 p.m.

Lunar power

Just because you prefer your naked rides less intense is no reason to miss riding naked beneath the moon — in this case a full one. 8:30 p.m.
