This Just In: Loose Leaf

Holy jungaliciousness! What are these beautiful creations and who makes them, you ask?! These stunning botanical installations are made by Wona Bae and Charlie Lawler, the creators of Australian botanical design studio, Loose Leaf. Wona, whose name means “the best seedling” (!!!) grew up on a flower farm in South Korea. She is a trained master of Kokozi, which is Korean style Ikebana, and floristry. Charlie also grew up around botanicals. His family operated a plant nursery in Hobart, Tasmania. Charlie went on to study permaculture and design before he and Wona established Loose Leaf.

Fun fact: Wona and Charlie are not only creative partners – they are also married to each other! We can’t help but to think their gorgeous installations are made with a whole lotta love and skill.

Wona and Charlie have created permanent and temporary botanical design and installations for events, exhibitions and commercial spaces in Australia.

Our Australian readers can check out Loose Leaf’s studio, workshop and retail space in the heart of Collingwood. For those of us that prefer drooling behind our screens, follow Loose Leaf here and on Instagram.
