ECHOS Communications (www.echoscomm.com) seeks an Account Executive to support a number of amazing brands in the cycling industry.

**A minimum of 2 years of media relations experience (agency experience preferred) is required.** Applicants should be avid cyclists with a background in the cycling industry. Those not fully immersed and passionate about cycling need not apply.

The candidate will be an excellent writer, bring a positive, can-do attitude, be hungry to learn, experiment, and improve processes, and demonstrate interest in supporting the agency’s continued growth. The position is based at our Portland office

Broad Role Overview:

Media Relations:

Build media lists, compile contacts from existing media lists and databases, while considering new contacts and appropriate outlets to include in campaign outreach
Compiling materials for media kits; building online newsrooms
Participate and execute daily reactive and proactive media outreach for clients
Launch or execute campaign outreach, including follow-up, and creating new relationships
Respond with a sense of urgency to all media and client requests and queries
Plan campaign with client and supervisor, setting goals and drafting roadmap to achieve desired results
Consider big picture targets such as broadcast and mainstream consumer media, as well as endemic/vertical publications
Develop compelling communications and thorough pitch/press materials relevant and of value to media targets
Respond with urgency to all incoming media requests for information, images, and product
Tracking and developing monthly client reports
Drafting press releases, talk points, pitches, blog posts, social media messages

Operations / Agency Development:

Actively participate in client calls
Attend client visits, meetings, and media visits
Participate in team meetings; sharing best practices, successes, and learnings

Required Qualifications:

Two years of media relations experience with a proven record of results
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
Understanding of public relations and the roles and responsibilities of a PR professional
Flexibility to work in a fast-growing, dynamic environment
Professionally driven to build relationships on our clients’ behalf
Ability to think creatively and strategically about individual pitches and campaigns
Ability to keep the best interest of the agency and our clients top-of-mind
Sound judgment and proven problem-solving capabilities
Positive, confident, and personable
Excellent organization and planning ability
Sharp eye for detail in all internal and external communications
Excellent time management; ability to prioritize with flexibility

Additional
Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Apple Keynote; Google Drive and Google Analytics; Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and InDesign (or other design suites); WordPress
Knowledge and interest in outdoor lifestyle (cycling, snowsports) and consumer products
