You know how we love mixing things up here at Jungalow? Well, we came across a fashion designer who does too! Shubhika Davda beautifully combines elements of Indian formal wear, Western silhouettes, metal embroidery, and bold color palettes. A neoprene heart lehenga? No problem, Shubhika’s got you! It’s no surprise she designs for the woman who is a rule-breaker, a rebel, and knows how to have fun! The name of her label says it all.
Shubhika studied mass media before she attended the London College of Fashion. Her career in fashion started in a small tailoring shop with 3 tailors and a pattern maker. Now, she is breaking down boundaries in the fashion world through her label,Papa Don’t Preach . Shubhika describes Papa Don’t Preach as “high street fashion.” Love that! The same unconventionality and element of surprise that inspired her to break all the rules on her professional path is woven into each of her quirky pieces. Above in a few of our favorite selects from her website, we’re swooning over the jade and blush tones, hand-embellished details, and the drama of it all! I would rock one of these frocks to a wedding or an industry event — heck, I may have even worn one to my own wedding if I had known about them then!
